Just be yourself and nice and respectful to people no matter who he/her are, if people see that you are nice to people they will like you.

You can't get people to behave exactly like you do, it is only natural for people to behave in separate ways. However when they consider your character good, they're are most likely to yield to your ideas. I feel that the most important thing to do is to work on your reputation, here are a few tips to consider in strengthening your reputation:
Do right consistently : shun seasonal goodness, try to do the right thing at all times and at all dispositions. It doesn't matter who is or who is not seeing you. Let people know you for an unwavering attitude of doing right, it'd pay later. Watch your words and actions closely: these are essential elements in building and sustaining a good reputation. As they say, it is out of the abundance of the heart that the mouth speaks. Never be careless to release unnecessary or hurting words. It's greatly connected to the feelings of people around you, remember, their feelings are either taking or giving to your reputation. As for actions, they speak louder than words, so speak cautiously and act wisely. First impressions are important: when you meet people for the first time, try as much as possible to dress as appropriate. Resist doing most of the talking and make them feel very important, even when they are not. You just made a lasting deposit in their minds, from which your reputation would gain. Render sincere apologies: it is often said that no one is above mistakes, the earlier you accepted it, the stronger your reputation. Render your sincere apology whenever you wrong anyone, levels or cadres not withstanding. Never feel any one is too inferior to get an apology from you, it damages their view of your personality which makes your reputation suffer loss. Help someone (others) reach his goal: Ordinarily, basic morality teaches us to help one another and as the popular proverb says, a successful king is the one who produced another king. It's time to take advantage of the needs of others to boost your reputation. You could cover for a colleague who needs to attend to an important function, you can also advocate for the rights of the less privileged. There are as well people around you who could have some of your clothes... The list is endless, just offer assistance. It not only fattens your reputation, it gathers the blessings of God. Hence, Blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy (cf. Matt. 5:7).Minimize your complaints: strive not to complain of every wrong or error - of the typist, your children, your spouse, friends and colleagues at work. Cantankerous people have poor public image. Instead of complaining, find a way to resolve or correct the error. You could eventually tell them but not in a complaining tone - and if you can, hesitate telling them, they'd discover someday with all credits given to you as your reputation flourishes. Be patient: Integrity and reputation is not an instantly erected structure, it is a gradual process. Don't expect quick results, it may take a little time to  build your dream public image. Exercise patience and your presence shall command respect.
