Western civilization to a great extent has really impacted on our culture both positively and negatively. On the positive side, a lot of barbaric stuffs have been abolished or reduced like human sacrifice, wife inheritance and other things that were not pleasing to the ear... But on the negative side, due to western education a lot of our indigenous languages are gradually going into extinction. Our mode of dressing has changed, some of us now feel shy or too ashamed to dress in our cultural attire... These and many more.

I don't have issues with America, my issue is with Africans not being themselves. Also, I disagree, The youth are copying American customs by dressing like Americans and singing rap music in more urbanized areas.
One thing I do agree with is that we should not copy other countries (unless if that country has similar culture to us then fine ok). A lot of "Nigerian popular music" is so Americanized or Indianized (if that is even a word) that it isn't even funny.
